Resolute Cable Multi-Station Exercise Equipment Recalled Due to Injury Hazard

Recalled Resolute Cable Multi-Station

Precor is recalling its Resolute Cable Multi-Station exercise equipment after reports of the pulley dropping during use, posing a risk of injury to users.

The recall affects about 834 units of the fitness equipment, which were sold to gyms across the U.S. from July 2023 through October 2024.

The recall specifically concerns Precor-branded Resolute Cable Multi-Station exercise machines with Model No. RMS905. These machines feature an adjustable pulley carriage that allows users to perform cable resistance exercises at various heights along a vertical rail.

A defect in the pop-pin mechanism that secures the pulley carriage to the vertical rail can cause the pop-pin to fail to fully engage, leading to the pulley dropping unexpectedly during use.

This malfunction creates an impact injury hazard that could result in harm to users, with Precor having already received nine reports of the pulley dropping, including two incidents where users sustained minor head injuries.

Product Details

The affected exercise equipment is identified by the brand name Precor, located above the vertical rail, and Model No. RMS905, which is printed on a label found on the underside of the top frame of the pulley assembly.

The equipment has a frame that measures approximately 68 inches long, 58 inches wide, and 94 inches tall. The frames come in silver, black, or white, with a variety of upholstery options.

Precor urges all gyms and fitness facilities with the recalled equipment to immediately stop using the machines. The company is actively reaching out to all known gym owners who purchased the recalled units to schedule a free on-site repair.

The repair will include the installation of a redesigned pop-pin and a new warning label to help prevent future incidents.

What to Do

  • Stop using the recalled equipment immediately to avoid injury. Precor will arrange for a qualified service technician to perform the necessary repairs, including the installation of a new pop-pin and warning label, at no cost to gym owners.
  • Do not attempt to fix the equipment yourself. Only Precor-certified technicians should handle the repairs.
