Borsari Food Co., based in Jamestown, NY, has issued a recall for its Bloody Mary Mix due to the presence of undeclared allergens, posing a potential risk to individuals with allergies to fish (anchovy) or soy. The recall affects all bottles of the product, which may cause severe allergic reactions in those with sensitivities to these ingredients.

The 32 oz. plastic bottles, sold under the Borsari brand with a black label and UPC code 815893000101, were distributed to stores within a 100-mile radius of Jamestown, NY, as well as through the company’s website. The issue was discovered during a routine inspection by the New York State Department of Agriculture. The product label does not currently list fish and soy as ingredients, a violation that could result in serious health risks for allergic consumers.

While no illnesses have been reported, Borsari Food Co. is urging customers who have purchased the product to return it. The company is directly contacting both retail stores and online buyers to inform them of the recall and arrange for product returns or replacements. Consumers are asked to provide proof of purchase in order to receive a replacement with the updated label, which will now clearly list fish (anchovy) and soy.

The company assures that future batches will contain updated labels, in compliance with allergen declaration requirements. For more information or inquiries, consumers are encouraged to contact Borsari Food Co. at 716-763-3391.

Borsari Food Co. has expressed its commitment to consumer safety and is taking immediate steps to resolve the issue.
