Children’s Jewelry Recalled Over Lead and Cadmium Poisoning Risk

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall for approximately 6,900 Yaomiao-branded children’s jewelry sets due to hazardous levels of lead and cadmium.

These metals, which exceed federal safety limits, pose a serious health risk to young children if ingested.

The jewelry sets, which contain between three and twelve pieces, feature designs including unicorns, butterflies, hearts, turtles, stars, and rainbows.

The sets are silver-colored with multicolored gems, and each is packaged in a lavender box with the phrase “A Special Gift for the Charming You” printed on it.

The product packaging also bears the brand name “Yaomiao.”

Lead and cadmium are toxic substances known to cause severe health issues, including developmental problems and organ damage, when children ingest them.

These materials are prohibited in children’s products under federal law, and their presence in the jewelry sets prompted the recall.

No injuries have been reported, but the CPSC urges consumers to immediately remove the jewelry and contact the retailer, LordRoads, for a full refund. Consumers will be asked to dispose of the recalled jewelry and provide a photo of the disposed items to receive their refund.
