The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a voluntary recall of approximately 3,750 bottles of Euqee Wintergreen Essential Oil, sold through Amazon.com between December 2023 and August 2024.
The recall is due to a packaging flaw that fails to meet child safety standards, posing a potential risk of poisoning to young children if ingested.
The essential oil, marketed as “Euqee, Essential Oil, Premium Grade, 100% Pure Plant Extract and Wintergreen,” is contained in amber glass bottles with a black screw-on cap, each holding 118 ml.
The bottle label clearly states the product name and includes safety information on the back. However, it does not feature child-resistant packaging, which is required under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA) for products containing methyl salicylate.
While no injuries or incidents have been reported, the CPSC urges consumers to take immediate action by securing the product out of the reach of children.
Affected consumers are advised to contact the retailer, DLWL-US, for a full refund. Consumers will receive a pre-paid label and free packaging to return the recalled product.
The product was sold for approximately $8 on Amazon.com. DLWL-US and Amazon are proactively reaching out to all known buyers to ensure that the recall is widely communicated.
For more information, consumers can contact DLWL-US via email at [email protected] or visit their recall webpage at www.euqee.net.
Consumers who own this product are urged to act swiftly to prevent any potential risks to children.
