Melii Baby Silicone Spoons for Babies Recalled Due to Choking Hazard; Imported by Melii Baby

Melii Baby Inc. is issuing a recall of approximately 85,100 Baby Silicone Spoons due to a potential choking hazard. The spoons, which feature animal-shaped handles, can break apart during use, posing a risk to babies.

The affected spoons, sold in packs of three or four, and as part of a five-piece silicone feeding set, are shaped like cats, dogs, dinosaurs, sharks, and unicorns.

The spoons are about six inches in length and carry the following date codes: 2024-01 for the three-pack sets, and 2023-12 to 2024-05 for the four-pack sets. All spoons in the Baby 5-Piece Silicone Feeding Sets are included in the recall.

While Melii Baby has received two reports of the spoon tip breaking, no injuries have been reported. As a precaution, consumers are urged to stop using the recalled spoons immediately and keep them out of reach of children.

What Consumers Should Do

Consumers who have purchased the recalled spoons should take the following steps:

  1. Immediately stop using the spoons.
  2. Photograph the affected spoons.
  3. Discard the spoons in household waste.
  4. Email the photographs to [email protected] to receive a free replacement set.

Melii Baby Silicone Spoons for Babies

The affected spoons were sold at Aldi Grocery Stores, Ross, and online through retailers including buybuyBaby.com, Amazon, Sierra, and several other websites from April 2024 to August 2024. The spoons were priced between $8 and $9.
