Orgain Recalls Batch of Protein Powder Due to Peanut Residue Risk

Orgain, a California-based manufacturer of organic nutritional products, has voluntarily recalled a single batch of its 30g Protein Organic Plant-Based Powder in Chocolate flavor due to the potential presence of undeclared peanut residue. The recall affects a limited quantity of the 2.01lb tubs distributed nationwide in retail stores and online.

The affected batch, identified by lot code 4172-02-P, carries an expiration date of June 20, 2026. The product is packaged in a plastic tub with a blue label indicating the chocolate flavor.

According to Orgain, the recall was initiated after a report of an allergic reaction from a consumer. The company stressed that no other illnesses have been reported, and the recall is limited to this specific batch.

The company also clarified that it conducted a thorough review of the production process for the affected lot and found no discrepancies, but the recall was enacted out of an abundance of caution.
