Motivate Me Ashley, LLC, based in San Antonio, Texas, is recalling several VidaSlim brand products after tests by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) revealed the presence of yellow oleander, a toxic plant known to cause serious health risks.
Yellow oleander is highly toxic and can have severe effects on the neurological, gastrointestinal, and cardiovascular systems. Symptoms of poisoning include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea, abdominal pain, heart irregularities, and arrhythmias, which can be fatal if consumed in sufficient quantities.
The recall affects various VidaSlim products, including the 90-day, 30-day, and 7-day capsules (Original Root, Root Plus, and Root) as well as the VidaSlim Hot Body Brew in Strawberry and Peach flavors.
While no illnesses have been reported thus far, the company is recalling affected products as a precautionary measure.
The products were sold online at www.vidaslim.com and through independent distributors. Consumers who have purchased these products with expiration dates between December 2024 and December 2025 are advised to stop using them immediately and return the items to the place of purchase for a full exchange (proof of purchase required).
The affected products can be identified by the expiration date on the bottom of the bottle or on the back of the sample pouch. The recall applies specifically to those with expiration dates from 12/24 (December 2024) to 12/25 (December 2025).
